• SoCalGas Gas Cost Incentive Mechanism

  • Background

In June 2010, So Cal Gas submitted its annual application for the Gas Cost Incentive Mechanism (GCIM) Year 16 (A.10-06-006).

The GCIM is a ratemaking mechanism that SoCalGas uses to purchase natural gas on behalf of its core customers. It establishes a benchmark against which to measure the price paid for gas, and has shown a record of providing significant benefits to ratepayers.

  • Public Advocates Office Position

The main issue of this proceeding is whether SoCalGas should be awarded the $16 million it is seeking as part of its GCIM application.

  • Current Proceeding

A Proposed Decision is expected 90 days after the Public Advocates Office's audit report is filed and comments are submitted.
