Our Work in Sacramento

The Public Advocates Office assists state policymakers understand and analyze complex utility issues. Consistent with our mandate to advocate for the lowest possible monthly bills for customers of California’s regulated utilities consistent with safety, reliability, and the state’s environmental goals the Public Advocates Office is readily available to:

  •  Provide technical expertise and educational briefings on complex utility issues
  •  Share feedback on legislation or bill amendments
  •  Present testimony and answer questions
  •  Convene and participating in stakeholder meetings to help resolve the most complex or contentious utility issues
  •  Provide updates on CPUC and the Public Advocate Office activities
