Nathaniel Skinner

Nathaniel Skinner was appointed Deputy Director of Energy at the Public Advocates Office in May 2025. In this role, he oversees the Energy Planning and Policy Branch, the Safety Branch, and the office’s Administrative Section.

Nat has worked on energy policy since 2008. He joined the Public Advocates Office in 2013 as Supervisor of the Natural Gas Section in the Energy Cost of Service and Natural Gas Branch. In 2019, he became Program Manager of the Safety Branch, where he led the office’s advocacy on risk assessment, wildfire mitigation plans, gas transmission pipeline routing, emergency disaster response, and public safety power shutoffs.
